What the decision engine does

Processes are described, not programmed. A specialist reads the rule and recognises their own directive in it.

Four outcomes instead of yes and no: autonomous, query, release required, watch. The maturity level of a process determines how much it may do on its own.

Medicine and insurance never decide autonomously. That is written into the rules, not into a statement of intent.

  1. Case arrives — from a document, an e-mail or a specialist system
  2. Process selected — by type and department
  3. Rules applied — thresholds, deadlines, responsibilities
  4. Outcome determined — autonomous, query, release required, watch
  5. Stop at a person — wherever the maturity level demands it (decided by a person)
  6. Reasoning filed — which rule, which value, which reason

No case disappears. "Watch" is a decision too — it is logged and presented again when the related transaction arrives.
